I’m not sure I understand what “problems” you are referring to. Can students look up math problems online??? If the student spends the time to research for answers and then change them to fit their own problem doesn’t that allow for some learning? Also, if you are discussing essay or extended answer responses then I believe that if the student has the internet available they should be free to use information they find; as long as such information is cited properly. However, I think that interpretation of that information must be original.

This solution only works when the problem itself is something that is deep. A simple math problem, like 2+2 is not going to help them in anyway. Put this idea in play for a programming class or project management class then there is something to talk about. At that point the students should be wanting to come up with an interesting solution.

Actually most of the spam comments were from hospitals that specialize in plastic surgery. They were in Bali, Malaysia, and Hawaii. I thought it was weird…have you gotten any spam yet?
